End before Beginning (how Melody happened to die)
Flashing lights, and spilled punch's sour smell. She could smell vomit, too. Dancing with Trevor, that was the good part, his dad's cologne smelled nice on his neck, and his arms around her felt warm, and so alive. When he whispered to her that they should get out of this party, and go for a drive, she was eager to; hoping they wouldn't drive far, but just park, and kiss. She really wanted to kiss him, at least at that moment.
By the time they got out to the car, though, she'd almost changed her mind. He was staggering a bit, she thought he must have been drinking more than she had, even. She asked him if she could drive, but when she seemed on the edge of backing out, he pushed her into the car and shut the door. Stunned, she didn't even try to get out until he'd started the car. He reached over and groped her, now his warmth felt painful and disgusting. Again Melody felt paralyzed - she didn't know how to react, this sort of thing had never happened to her before.
Trevor made the tires squeal as he pulled out of the circular driveway and steered the car almost into the right lane. His left tires straddled the yellow line as he wove and darted in what was, Melody gave thanks, a low traffic roadway.
The car in front of them was going slow but in the just-starting rain, it wasn't clear till they were very close. Melody gave a muffled shriek as Trevor hit the brakes, and the car skidded around so that it was sideways to the road's direction, Melody looked at the oncoming traffic from the other direction and everything flashed as the other car impacted.
It hurt very, very, very much but only for a few moments. Then darkness over her face, for a while...
