Sitting next to her friend who was driving the car, Leila looked out of the window at the suburbia of Dallas. She was beat, and slouched openly as she watched the sky slowly turning from blue to orange.
"I can't wait to see Susan again - I've missed her a lot during these last few months." They had covered this subject many times during the drive from Phoenix to Dallas, but there was little left to talk about.
"Yep. I hope you enjoy your stay in the city too. You were serious about staying, right?" Her friend looked at Leila's attractive face, contorted in an unsightly yawn.
"Yeah, like I said, I have some vacation time coming up and Susan said I could stay in their apartment while her and her new husband are on their honeymoon. I've always wanted to go to Dallas... so this was a perfect opportunity. Hmm.. how far away are we from the hotel, would you say?"
"Maybe half an hour. I suggest we go to bed early, we want to be well-rested for the wedding tomorrow."
"I don't know... maybe I'll sleep a little and then go out and check out the nightlife. I'm dying to experience Dallas after dark." She smiled, and leaned even further back in the car seat.
