From: Mason Weston
Lucille called Mason in so she could hear the end of her conversation with the Prince. The most sensitive discussions were over and they were now talking about how the clan as a whole and how it would handle this new development.
Mason tried to concentrate but her mind was riveted by the details of Rebecca's death. Either her ghoul had been badly misinformed as to the nature of vampires, or, more likely, someone had interfered in his mind, making him confused and setting her death to inevitability.
She added this to the list of things to study how vampires were able to cloud minds. She knew Miss Semingsworth had this kind of ability, but not exactly how it worked or how strong it might be. A very enticing ability, to think how useful and helpful it might be - she shuddered though at the misuse of it to send a powerful member of her employer's clan to final death.
Mason tuned back in and replayed the phone conversation over in her mind that she had just listened to. She was sure her part would be simple enough, and that her employer would give her any further detailed instructions if they were necessary.
