A Tail of Two Kindred

From: Lyness and Millie

Comments

Millie's thoughts dwell on the trial and gruesome sentence of Alic. She waits outside the Fontenot residence where she saw Lyness enter earlier this eve, eager for the respite from horror that the Lady brings.

Lyness exits quietly, a beautiful smile on her face. She studies the night sky as she walks, wondering what makes them twinkle so... the stars, the heavens... what the priests say she is denied.

Millie almost wiggles with delight as she sees the lovely Lyness approach. She waits for her to pass, "Pssst... Lyness." She folds Lyness into the shadows with her. The Gangrel pauses for a moment in surprise, and then quickly wraps the mischievous Malkavian in her arms, giggling brightly. Millie squeaks and giggles as well.

"Millie! Thou hast come to search me out?"

Millie nods and smiles. "I miss you," she pouts a bit.

Lyness smiles warmly, lifting Millie into the air, spinning in a circle, then drawing her close for a moment before releasing her. "Why dost thou miss me?"

Giggling and settling to the ground, Millie answers coyly, "Because you are my friend, you goofy fuzzy."

Lyness gives her a quizzical glance, then nods, "I miss thee and thy ways as well."

"And, I thought you might like to know about.... um..." Millie looks around nervously, "Alic."

Lyness takes a few steps back, her smile and jovial mood evaporating like mist in sunlight. Her ears flatten to the sides of her head, and expression of both hurt and humiliation on her face. "I seek nothing from him. Not now. Not ever. Should his clan have... have..."

Millie looks down darkly, "His clan has served him final justice." She becomes deflated at the reaction she has caused. "I am sorry. I just thought you would want to know."

Lyness falls silent, a dark, brooding look on her face. She then takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly, "Thank thee for sharing thy news."

Millie apologetically continues, "I really did miss you. The other is done now. All over. Time for happy things." Millie fidgets, then with a sudden urge starts to reach up to look under the back of Lyness's dress. She stops herself with a force of will. "Um... sorry... I just thought I saw..." Millie shakes her head to clear it, stifling a grin.

Lyness tilts her head to one side curiously "What did thou thinkest thee saw?"

"I... well... it must have been my imagination... I thought I saw..." the little Malkavian smirks and almost giggles, "a tail," she lets loose her mirth.

Lyness smiles, letting some of her anger fade. "Thee did."

Millie squeaks with astonishment. "No way! Oh... oh... c-c-can I...?" she asks with intensity, wringing her hands.

Lyness glances around somewhat embarrassed, not at the thought of someone seeing her lift her skirt, but at the lack of control it signified. She whispers, "If thee wish." The Gangrel smiles warmly

Millie tenses with agitation as Lyness lifts the hem of her dress, just below her waist, and reaches to untie her tail. The Gangrel concentrates, wagging it a few times, blushing.

"It wags!" Millie peeps, looking like she is about to pop with child-like glee.

Lyness smiles shyly, whispering still, "Would thee care to touch it?"

The Malkavian wiggles her fingers together with giddy tension. "Oh... can I?" Lyness nods, smiling somewhat childishly herself as Millie reaches out to touch the soft fur, closing her eyes as she feels it between her fingers. She pulls her hand back. "You are so lucky..." she grins shuffling her feet with a bit of embarrassment. "Thank you." Lyness grins in return, getting caught up in Millie's delight as the Malkavian continues to speak softly, "Oh, and...." Millie pulls a book from inside her coat. "Well, you see, there are these books that I can't read." Millie pouts a bit. Lyness ties her tail carefully to her thigh again, letting her dress fall back, a look of intent on her face as she continues to listen. "I think I saw you reading stuff like it before." Millie hands Lyness the book. "If you could help me read it, I would really like that." Lyness glances at the book in her hands, nodding her head as she stares at Millie quietly for a moment. Millie whispers, repeating herself, "Really... really like..." She shakes her head and goes on, "Can you read it? It is like, Greek, right?"

Lyness a look on concentration passes over her face, as she glances from Millie, back to the mansion and back again, "'Tis Latin, a script on occult lore, from its look."

"Ah, Latin," Millie nods. "I want to know it. There are some drawings in it, but that is about all I can understand." she furrows her brow and looks back, wondering what Lyness could be looking at.

Lyness takes a step closer to Millie, looking her in the eyes, "Was it thou who brought Sally back from earth?

Millie looks up to meet her gaze, "What do you mean?"

"It matters to me if thou did this, for I would owe thee a debt of untold gratitude," Lyness explains.

"Well, I could say I did it even if I did not. Who would refuse your gratitude?" Millie grins mischievously. "But why would I have kept it a secret from you if I did?"

Lyness shakes her head "Thee could... but thee would not. Was it thee who dug Sally from the ground?

Millie says: "As unlikely as it sounds, I will say yes, it was me..." Lyness nods, a warm, soft smile on her face. Millie adds softy, "If only to make you smile"

"I shall teach thee Latin, as payment... for bringing that smile."

Millie beams happily. "I know just the place, a quiet, dark place. Only a few rats and roaches." Lyness sighs happily.

The two kindred exit the surface world into the darkness below. Two sets eyes gleam under the city, laughing and learning.
