'Instant Karma' or 'Hating Hate'

I loathe cruelty.
What did I feel before this boil on my soul?
Did someone's malice leap into my heart, or does it breed like a virus?
Does malevolence multiply or divide? Do we react to it, or create it?
If I choose vengeance over forgiveness, is there not more pain in existence than before? 
Evil in my heart contributes to the sum of evil in humanity.
In my despising, I bruise the soft tissue of the universe.
Dark things come to those who hate.
