Report from Father Sorgia to Vicar-General Alister Paulin of the Order of the Griffin
Darokin Overview

After resting, we gathered our gains and set out back to Ierendi, and from there back home, at last, to Karamiekos.

Upon returning to Karamiekos it was brought to our attention by the great elven sage that another elf, a master in the lore of dragons may perhaps know the whereabouts of the next part of the rod.  Wasting no time we went to visit this other sage and though I was not allowed to enter the Elven habitation, (the elves having a xenophobic view of our priesthood) good Alexi soon returned letting  us know that one of the rod pieces may have been part of a dragons hoard that a great hero had whisked away long ago and used to build the empire of Darokin.  Journeying to Darokin and consulting with them might bring us closer to our quest.

We reached Darokin after some minor skirmishes leaving Karameikos but found the merchant roads of Darokin well patrolled and enjoyed our travel there immensely.  Within Darokin itself we linked up with one of our churches, took council and soon had elaborate lodgings after our long travel.

While awakening and having a resplendant meal we were approached by a member of the Darokin diplomatic corp. who let us know who we should speak to about artifacts in the countries possession.  He also mentioned a metal shortage that we had heard of when leaving our homeland.  If we could get to the bottom of it Darokin would be very grateful.

Gaining an appointment with an official of the country through one of our countries diplomats, we soon found that they indeed might have such a thing as our rod piece in their possession but they'd not aid us unless we did something for them, so it seemed we would need to represent our country and look into the metal shortage that plagued the mines here abouts.  Gaining that information and putting a stop to it would ensure we were given access to the Darokin treasure rooms to search for a piece of the rod of law.

The journey to and from the mines was very trying.  Our lives were put in danger in many stages of our mission.  Bandits were discovered, orcs and orogs holding militant positions in the mines, murdered miners, along with mystic beings who led these minions to hold the mines closed.  After much battle and blood shed we soon discovered that one of the members of the famed Darokin merchants guild was behind the metal shortage and he had been trying to start a conflict of sorts between Darokin and Karameikos.  We brought the information to the Darokin government and the criminal was dealt with harshly.  Our valor and response to duty had won us the next piece of the rod of law and we bore it away home to Karameikos with pride.  In honor of our bravery we were also made honorary members of the Darokin merchants guild, which gave us access to their grand headquarters where many forms of business and commerce were conducted by only the most rich and priviledged of their society.
